Creating Your Own Flower Essences

Dropper Bottle

You can create your own flower essences using the flowers in your own garden. Here is a simplified method. You'll find more detailed information on how to create flower essences in many books and websites. Different flower essence practitioners utilize additional methods, such as using crystals to enhance the process. You may experiment to find a method that works best for you!

1. You will need a glass dropper bottle to keep the essence in, and some sort of preservative such as brandy or apple cider vinegar. Fill the dropper bottle 1/4 with preservative.

2. Get a small glass bowl and fill it with spring water. (Some flower essence creators say you should not use distilled water, but perhaps you will want to experiment.)

3. Get into a meditative state and pick the flowers with positive intention.

4. Place the flower petals into the bowl and leave in the sun for four hours or more. Try not to touch the petals.

5. When complete, put the water into the the dropper bottle (that has the preservative in it).

Your original bottle is your "mother tincture." From this mother tincture, you will then create "stock bottles" that can be further diluted into "dosage bottles" for actual use.

To create a stock bottle, fill a dropper bottle 1/4 with preservative, add water, then a few drops of the mother tincture.

To create a dosage bottle, fill a dropper bottle 1/4 with preservative, add water, then a few drops of the stock bottle. (Since the bottles you buy from flower essence companies are stock bottles, you can use this method to make your stock bottles last longer.)

Remember: mother tincture -> stock bottle -> dosage bottle

That's it! You can experiment with creating essences from different flowers, crystals, and other energies, using your creativity.
